Malaysian Sports — A Pride We Share Together
Sports are more than just competition. For Malaysians, sports are part of our soul and identity. We still remember how an entire nation stood united watching our badminton players battle it out at the Olympics, or how JDT fans packed Stadium Sultan Ibrahim to see their beloved team play under the floodlights at night. fj99 exists to celebrate that sporting spirit — by providing a platform that brings together all sports information, schedules, analysis, and opportunities in one easily accessible place.
Sports Section at fj99 is not just a place to follow the latest match results — it's a community where Malaysian sports fans gather, get reliable information, and dive deeper into the sports they love. From the drama of the Malaysian Super League to the glamour of the English Premier League, from world-class badminton tournaments to esports events earning their place in the hearts of Malaysia's younger generation — it's all here.
Malaysian Football — A Passion That Never Dies
Football is Malaysia's number one sport by participation and viewership. Liga Super Malaysia has grown significantly over the past decade, with better-managed professional clubs, more modern stadium infrastructure, and a continually rising standard of play.
Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) has dominated the domestic football scene for several consecutive seasons, but competition from Selangor FC, Kedah FA, Perak FC and other clubs ensures every Liga Super season is full of surprises and excitement. Beyond Liga Super, the FA Cup and Malaysia Cup also serve as important platforms for smaller clubs to showcase their talent.
On the international stage, the Malaysian national team — "Harimau Malaya" — is showing increasingly positive progress under new management. Their campaigns in World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers are always a hot topic among Malaysian football fans. fj99 ensures you never miss a single update on the national team and every Super League club.
Badminton — Malaysia's Most Beloved Sport
If football is the most popular sport by participation, badminton is the sport that has brought Malaysia the most international glory. Names like Lee Chong Wei, Datuk Nicol David, and Malaysia's legendary doubles pairs — these are a legacy of sporting excellence that continues to inspire new generations.
Now, Lee Zii Jia carries that torch with pride, continuing the tradition of Malaysian badminton players competing against the world's best on the BWF World Tour and Olympic stage. Every Lee Zii Jia match is an emotional journey for Malaysian badminton fans — full of tension, passion, and sometimes tears of joy.
Fj99 follows the journey of Malaysia's badminton stars at every level — from the Thomas and Uber Cup to the BWF World Championships. Match schedules, latest results, and performance analysis are all available to help you keep up with the sport we're most proud of.
Malaysian Esports — A New Generation, The Same Passion
There's no denying that esports has become an inseparable part of Malaysia's modern sports landscape. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is a national phenomenon — with millions of active players in Malaysia and local teams competing internationally in the M-Series tournaments, broadcast live to millions of viewers.
Beyond MLBB, Dota 2 with its iconic The International, PUBG Mobile with PMPL, Valorant Champions Tour, and the League of Legends World Championship all command the attention of Malaysia's growing and increasingly knowledgeable esports fanbase. Malaysian teams competing on the international stage — from Geek Fam to squads representing the country at SEA Games esports — are a source of shared national pride.
Interestingly, esports is now officially recognised as a sport in the SEA Games, proving that what a younger generation started in gaming rooms has become a serious, respected competitive discipline. fj99 celebrates this milestone by providing comprehensive esports coverage, making it the go-to destination for Malaysian esports fans to stay informed.
Global Sports That Also Captivate Malaysia
Malaysians don't just follow local sports — we're among the most passionate international sports fans in Southeast Asia. The English Premier League is the "league of choice" for millions of Malaysian football fans, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal supporters found in every corner of the country.
NBA basketball, Wimbledon and Roland Garros in tennis, Formula 1, MotoGP Grand Prix — all of these get serious coverage in the fj99 Sports section. Analysis written in reader-friendly English makes it easy to follow tactics, stats, and the latest developments across each sport, even if you're not a professional analyst.
